Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Associate Sales - Optical to join our healthcare team. Duties
- Greet patients and assist them in selecting eyewear options tailored to their needs and preferences.
- Educate patients on optical products, lens options, and proper eye care practices.
- Take vital signs when necessary and document findings accurately within electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Support the clinic by managing patient flow, scheduling appointments, and maintaining medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Perform laboratory tasks related to medical equipment, lens fitting, measurements, and quality control.
- Assist with medical coding and billing processes related to optical services.
- Maintain knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and aseptic techniques relevant to the optical environment.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive patient care across pediatric, senior care, or general populations.
- Uphold clinic standards by adhering to safety protocols and maintaining a clean work environment.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in optical sales or is preferred; laboratory or clinic experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and HIPAA compliance standards.
- Familiarity with EMR systems such or other electronic health record platforms.
- Strong retail management skills including retail math and customer service excellence.
- Experience with medical billing and coding related to optical services is advantageous.
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse patient groups including pediatrics and seniors.
- Basic understanding of vital signs measurement and aseptic techniques in clinical settings.
