Associate Sales - Optical

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Associate Sales - Optical to join our healthcare team. This role involves providing exceptional customer service and support in an optical setting, assisting patients with their eyewear needs, and ensuring accurate documentation within electronic medical records systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in ophthalmology, medical terminology, and retail sales, with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse patient populations, including pediatrics and senior care. Experience with EMR systems, as well as knowledge of HIPAA regulations and medical billing, will be highly valued. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to patient care while developing expertise in optical sales and healthcare operations.

Duties

• Greet patients and assist them in selecting eyewear options tailored to their needs and preferences.
• Educate patients on optical products, lens options, and proper eye care practices.
• Take vital signs when necessary and document findings accurately within electronic health records (EHR) systems.
• Support the clinic by managing patient flow, scheduling appointments, and maintaining medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Perform laboratory tasks related to medical equipment, lens fitting, measurements, and quality control.
• Assist with medical coding and billing processes related to optical services.
• Maintain knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and aseptic techniques relevant to the optical environment.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive patient care across pediatric, senior care, or general populations.
• Uphold clinic standards by adhering to safety protocols and maintaining a clean work environment.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in optical sales or is preferred; laboratory or clinic experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and HIPAA compliance standards.
• Familiarity with EMR systems such or other electronic health record platforms.
• Strong retail management skills including retail math and customer service excellence.
• Experience with medical billing and coding related to optical services is advantageous.
• Ability to communicate effectively with diverse patient groups including pediatrics and seniors.
• Basic understanding of vital signs measurement and aseptic techniques in clinical settings.

Pay: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour
