What are the responsibilities and job description for the Audit Manager position at Bell & Company, P.A.?
Responsibilities include but not limited to the following:
- Performs and/or reviews audits such as: 401k, IRS and state income tax audits, financial statement audits
- Perform audit and tax research
- Is the primary point of contact for clients and other staff members assigned to the audit
- Prepares financial compilations
- Bids on prospective A&A jobs
- Develops procedures
- Directs the work of and manages other Auditors and Accountants
- Prepare and/or review various tax returns; tax projections
- Assist with Peer Review
- Be able to travel to client locations both local and out of state (minimal)
- Establishes excellent rapport with clients and other member of the company
- Maintains accurate time records and description of work performed for client billing
- Supervise, assign, instruct and delegate all types of tax and attest work prepared by Supervisors level and below.
- Be at work as required and on time.
- Must be a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in good standing
- Bachelor's degree required, Accounting preferred
- Minimum of 7 years of recent practical experience in public accounting in the field of Auditing.
- Ability to analyze financial data and draw appropriate conclusions
- Able to prepare financial statements
- Excellent communication and listening skills
- Knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting
- Understanding of and the ability to apply GAAP
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time
- Ability to convey knowledge to other accountants to increase their knowledge base
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software, accounting software: Quickbooks, Ultratax, Engagement, File cabinet, or similar.
