We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Elementary Teacher Assistant to join our Montessori school community. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting in creating a nurturing and engaging learning environment for our young students in our Lower Elementary classroom (grades Kindergarten through 3rd- ages 5-9), focusing on early elementary education and developing the skills and knowledge necessary for their future success. This is a support role, not a lead teacher position.

CLASSROOM RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Supervise and monitor the safety of children.
- Support the lead teacher with any classroom tasks and any associated responsibilities.
-Work with the lead teacher to assist in supervising activities in the classroom.
-Manage small to large groups of children at recess, lunchtime, as well as pick up/ drop off time.
-Help children keep good hygiene.
-Prepare snacks for the children.
-Assist teachers and director with any other assigned tasks.
-Mitigate conflicts between children.
-Clean and sanitize the classroom and other areas of the school.
-Socialize, interact, and build healthy relationships with the children.
-Learn and implement Montessori strategies in playing and learning.
-Maintain professional working relationships with colleagues and clients.
-Work with teachers and director to maintain communication with parents and contact parents in emergency situations
Qualifications
-Previous experience with child care preferred.
-Sit, stand, and navigate stairs and maneuver classroom spaces.
-Lift up to 30 lbs.
-Minimum Qualification: High school diploma or GED
-Must possess valid CPR and First Aid certifications (if not currently certified, may become certified within the first month of employment.)
-Ability to pass background check required. Must have a record free of criminal violations that would prohibit school employment.
-Attentiveness to the needs and safety of children.
-Ability to work in a team setting.
-Willingness to learn new skills and to demonstrate flexibility in adapting to needs of the classroom.
-Adhere to a school appropriate dress code.
-Demonstrate good attendance, punctuality, and professionalism.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
