Director of Land Surveying (L.S.)
$115,000–$135,000 | Full-Time | Onsite | Monday–Friday
A growing land surveying practice is looking for an experienced Director of Land Surveying to lead surveying operations, support field crews, oversee quality control, and help develop the surveying team.
What You’ll Do
- Prepare boundary and topographic surveys, easements, subdivision plans, proposals, and other survey documents
- Perform boundary computations and land record research
- Process field data and create topographic maps using TIN surfaces
- Assist with field crew supervision, scheduling, and preparation
- Periodically serve as a crew chief when needed
- Ensure surveying work meets company standards and quality requirements
- Train and mentor surveying staff
- Coordinate with clients and internal teams
What We’re Looking For
- Licensed Land Surveyor — MA, CT, or RI preferred
- Associate’s degree in Land Surveying or related field required; Bachelor’s degree a plus
- 5 years of supervisory experience
- 4 years of Civil 3D experience in a land surveying capacity
- Strong understanding of field survey methods and procedures
- Strong communication and client coordination skills
- Highly organized and detail-oriented
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Valid driver’s license
- Willingness to work in the field as needed, including varying weather conditions and difficult terrain
Compensation & Benefits
$115,000–$135,000 base salary, depending on experience and qualifications.
Exceptional candidates may be considered above the stated range.
