The Inventory and Cost Accounting Manager reports to the Business Controller and is responsible for managing cost accounting activities, ensuring accurate inventory valuation, and working closely with cross-functional teams to optimize financial performance. This role plays a key part in maintaining data integrity, supporting operational improvements, and driving process efficiency across inventory and costing functions.

Range For This Position
$100,000 - $120,000
Factors such as geographic location, academic credentials, relevant experience, and specific knowledge, skills and abilities will influence the actual salary offered. In addition to a competitive market-based salary, compensation also includes a performance-based bonus, and in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. The Inventory and Cost Accounting Manager reports to the Business Controller and is responsible for managing cost accounting activities, ensuring accurate inventory valuation, and working closely with cross-functional teams to optimize financial performance. This role plays a key part in maintaining data integrity, supporting operational improvements, and driving process efficiency across inventory and costing functions.
Specific Responsibilities Include
- Maintain accurate inventory and cost records in the ERP system while proactively identifying and implementing system enhancements to improve data integrity and operational efficiency.
- Lead inventory accounting processes such as cycle counts and variance analysis to support accurate financial reporting and identify areas for operational improvement.
- Manage inventory reconciliation processes, including Customer Consigned Inventory, to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Contribute to the month-end closing process.
- Participate in financial review and provide analysis and recommendation.
- Support any implementation and continuous improvement of inventory-related projects and other cross-functional system enhancements, in compliance with Belkin Accounting Policies.
- Work with operations, supply chain, and other departments to resolve issues and improve processes.
- Conduct special projects as needed.
- Manage and mentor cost accounting staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Support various audit requests related to Inventory activities and Costing.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
- Understand and follow company rules and regulations.
- Perform all other duties as assigned and required.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to bend, twist, and reach.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in typing and communication.
- Repeated use of fingers, hands, and wrists for keyboarding and other tasks.
- Ability to lift, carry, and maneuver up to 10 pounds in an office setting and up to 50 pounds while traveling.
- Ability to travel via car, airplane, bus, or train.
- Four-year college degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting or Finance.
- 6 years of experience in a similar or related position preferably.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (Oracle experience preferably) and Microsoft Excel.
- Proficiency in use of data warehouse and financial reporting tools.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels internally and externally.
