Shipping and Receiving Coordinator

Believer Meats is an innovative start-up revolutionizing the food industry through the development and commercialization of cultivated meat products. Leveraging cutting-edge biotechnology, we aim to provide sustainable, ethical, and high-quality meat alternatives to consumers worldwide. Our first U.S. commercial facility in Wilson, North Carolina will be operational mid-2025 and our first cultivated chicken product is slated to hit the market this year.

JOB SUMMARY

Working with the Warehouse Department, the Shipping & Receiving Coordinator is responsible for managing the flow of materials and products in and out of the manufacturing facility. This role ensures accurate and timely handling of shipments, proper documentation, and coordination with internal departments to maintain efficient production and inventory control.

Schedule: This role works full-time, on-site during standard business hours (Monday to Friday).

Please note: This position does not offer relocation assistance. Candidates must be in the Wilson, North Carolina area or be willing to relocate at their own expense. RESPONSIBILITIES

• Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials against packing slips and purchase orders.
• Prepare and package outgoing shipments according to company and carrier standards.
• Maintain accurate digital records of all incoming and outgoing shipments in inventory systems.
• Coordinate with production and warehouse teams to ensure timely movement of materials.
• Operate forklifts or other material handling equipment as needed, following safety protocols.
• Must consistently follow all safety and food safety protocols, guidelines, and procedures to ensure a safe working environment. This includes compliance with
• properly using personal protective equipment (PPE), identifying and reporting potential hazards, and actively participating in safety training and initiatives. A commitment to maintaining a culture of safety and minimizing risks to yourself and your colleagues is essential.

QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate will have 3 years of experience in similar shipping & receiving work. Previous experience working in fast-paced or highly regulated (biotechnology or pharmaceutical) environments is strongly preferred.

The incumbent will have a combination of skills, education, and skills that demonstrate the ability to fulfill all aspects of this job description including:

• Solid computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite and ERP/MRP systems).
• Demonstrated experience with shipping platforms (FedEx, UPS, etc.).
• Professional communication skills, ability to organize details, and take initiative in a busy start-up environment.
• Experience driving forklifts and the ability to obtain forklift certification (training provided).
• Ability to regularly commute to Wilson, North Carolina and reliably work assigned shift.
• Authorized to work in the US (Believer is an E-Verify participant).
• Ability to pass pre-employment background screening

• Capable of performing repetitive physical tasks and remaining active for long periods during shifts, including during peak shipping times.
• Visual and Auditory Acuity:
• Ability to read shipping labels, packing slips, and computer screens; hear forklifts, alarms, and verbal instructions in a noisy environment.
• Lifting and Carrying:
• Able to lift and carry items up to 50 pounds regularly, with occasional heavier lifting using proper equipment or team assistance.
