VISION FOR POSITION
The Transportation and Logistics Coordinator (TLC) is responsible for overseeing and managing all transportation operations for BELIEVE Academy, ensuring the seamless coordination of transit for students participating in health sciences programs, internships, and clinical experiences. This role ensures that transportation services are efficient, reliable, and aligned with BELIEVE Academy’s commitment to student success. The TLC will work closely with students, families, staff, and transportation providers to optimize scheduling, enhance safety, and ensure smooth operations.
The TLC leads the transportation team and ensures all logistics are communicated effectively to stakeholders. This individual must be highly organized, proactive, and committed to providing a structured, efficient transportation system that supports student learning experiences.
KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Transportation Operations & Route Management
- Oversee daily transportation operations for all health sciences students, ensuring seamless travel to and from academic institutions, clinical sites, and internships.
- Manage and adjust AM, PM, and mid-day transportation routes based on student schedules and program needs.
- Coordinate transportation for internships, clinical rotations, and courses at partner institutions.
- Track transportation data to optimize routes, reduce transit times, and improve efficiency.
- Communication & Stakeholder Coordination
- Serve as the primary liaison between students, families, staff, and transportation providers, ensuring clear and consistent communication regarding schedules and changes.
- Provide timely updates on transportation logistics to students, families, and faculty.
- Respond to student and parent inquiries related to transportation concerns and ensure appropriate solutions are implemented.
- Compliance & Safety Oversight
- Maintain compliance with all transportation safety regulations and ensure adherence to school policies and state laws.
- Conduct regular evaluations of transportation systems to identify areas for improvement and ensure student safety.
- Develop and implement contingency plans for emergencies, delays, or disruptions in transportation.
- Schoolwide Operations & Student Support
- Support campus-wide operations and contribute to maintaining a safe, structured school environment when not actively managing transportation logistics.
- Assist with hallway, lunchroom, arrival, and dismissal supervision, promoting positive student behavior and supporting staff coverage needs as appropriate.
- Collaborate with deans and leadership to help implement school-wide systems for discipline and school culture.
- Serve as a responsive and visible presence throughout the school building to support student accountability and community norms.
- Team Leadership & Training
- Supervise transportation staff and ensure proper training on safety protocols, route management, and student support.
- Provide professional development and ongoing communication to transportation personnel regarding operational updates.
- Foster a team culture focused on reliability, efficiency, and student-centered service.
IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong leadership and organizational skills, with experience in logistics, transportation management, or school operations.
- Ability to develop and maintain complex transportation schedules efficiently.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively engage students, families, and staff.
- Familiarity with compliance requirements and safety regulations related to school transportation.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, particularly in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
- Experience working with students in an educational or service-based setting is a plus.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- 3 years of experience in transportation management, logistics, school operations, or a related field.
- Experience with managing transportation vendors.
- Experience conducting bus safety drills.
- Experience creating and updating bus routes.
- Experience fueling buses and monitoring DEF
- Experience with managing communication with bus radios/walkies and camera systems.
- Eligibility to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience working in K-12 or postsecondary education settings.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Education, or a related field.
- Background in coordinating transportation for schools, workforce development programs, or community-based organizations.
- Familiarity with school based scheduling.
- Bilingual proficiency (Spanish or other languages) is a plus.
