Belhaven University is seeking candidates for a full-time, tenure-track, open-rank faculty position in Computer Science to serve as the Program Chair of Artificial Intelligence (AI). The Program Chair will oversee the development and management of AI-focused academic programs, mentor faculty and students, and advance the University's vision through innovation and leadership in the AI domain. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate-level courses in computer science and AI, conducting research, curriculum development, supporting program operations, and engaging in service activities. This is an on-site position based in Jackson, MS.
- Strong expertise in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science, and related disciplines
- Experience with curriculum development, program leadership, and faculty mentoring
- Proficiency in a variety of programming languages and software development tools
- Proven abilities in research, academic writing, and publishing in relevant fields
- Excellent teaching skills with a passion for student mentorship and development
- Dedication to integrating Christian values within the academic and professional community
- Ph.D. in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a closely related field (required)
