What are the responsibilities and job description for the Heavy Equipment Operator – position at Belfor and Careers?
Key Responsibilities
- Operate various types of heavy equipment including excavators/dozers/backhoes/loaders/skid loaders/rough terrain forklifts
- Follow applicable safety rules, regulations, guidelines, policies, and site specific safety plans when performing cleanup activities and donning protective gear.
- Operate routinely used tools and equipment
- Perform routine inspection and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment
- Load and unload equipment from vehicles, and trailers
- Hazardous Waste Operations
- Complete required paperwork, forms and records as required
- Other projects and duties as assigned.
Experience and Qualifications
- Must have a Class "A/B" CDL
- Construction industry experience, hazardous waste experience and certification (i.e. OSHA 40hr HAZWOPER), Class "A/B" CDL, heavy equipment operation and maintenance experience required.
- Ideal candidates will have a minimum of 3 years of environmental project experience
- Excellent driving history
- Required Education: High School or Equivalent
- Must be able to interpret and follow written and oral instructions and assignments.
- Able to wear full and half face respirator
- Work in an environment that is usually dirty, dusty, and noisy
- Work in an environment containing hazardous or potentially hazardous substances and/or materials
- Work is subject to inclement or extreme weather conditions.
- Work includes handling hazardous materials
- Use of personal protective equipment
- Able to wear full and half face respirator
- Must pass a physical exam.
