Essential Duties:
The Maintenance Employee shall serve under the direct supervision of the Facilities Team Lead and shall be responsible for the following specific duties:
- Working off ladders, occasionally
- Working off scaffolding, occasionally
- Lifting to waist, 25 to 30 pounds frequently
- Lifting to waist 35 to 100 pounds, occasionally
- Lifting waist to shoulders, 17 to 25 pounds, frequently
- Lifting waist to shoulders, 17 to 40 pounds, occasionally
- Lifting overhead, 20 pounds, occasionally
- Pushing and pulling 12.5 to 25 pounds frequently and 35 to 40 pounds occasionally
- Reaching, squatting, bending frequently
- Basic maintenance duties
- District grounds duties
- Marking and maintaining athletic fields and facilities
- Fill in for other positions in the Facilities Department when needed
- Perform other related duties as directed by the Facilities Team Lead
Qualifications:
- Must be a high school graduate (or willing to complete diploma or GED)
- Must have competency in spelling, writing, and basic English language skills
- Must be physically capable of carrying out the essential functions of the job
- Must possess skills in maintaining school buildings in a manner acceptable to the general health and safety standards of the school
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Must have ability to diagnose/fix basic Facilities items
- Must be capable of operating and maintaining grounds equipment such as farm tractor, plow truck, snow blower, lawn sweeper, etc.
- HVAC, Plumbing and or electrical experience a plus
- Pesticide and boiler certification a plus
- Must have basic computer skills
- Must be able to work without direct supervision
- Must be able to build and maintain positive working relationships with students, staff, parents, and the community.
- Working towards a (district paid) CDL will be required.
