What are the responsibilities and job description for the Food and Beverage Manager - BH position at Belden House Operator LLC?
Main Duties
- Ownership of all Food and Beverage functions.
- Budget building, forecasting, oversight and reporting to Executive team.
- Training strategies, course, and compliance tracking.
- Restaurant, Pool, and Banquet (Corporate and Weddings) in a high-end customer centric hotel.
- Best-in-class customer service is essential in this role, responding to guests requests in real-time politely and professionally. Handling escalated situations.
- SOP development and maintenance.
- Department labor strategy ownership including labor needs reporting.
- In real time reports to management on any observed issues or unusual activities observed during the course of your work.
- Training of new and existing staff as required.
- General supervision of staff & F&B management including but not limited to coaching in the moment, tracking time & attendance, and reviewing room checklists.
- Will act as Manager on Duty for other departments as needed.
- Ad-hoc support for special projects may be assigned.
Requirements
- 5 or more years F&B experience with at least two of those years in a upper management role in a hotel (or similar) environment is required. Two years Director level or equivalent of Food and Beverage in a high-end customer centric hotel setting is preferred.
- 5 years of management experience is required.
- At least 5 years of budget management experience required, 2 years of budget ownership and reporting is required.
- An in-depth understanding of culinary and wine/beverage presentations and pairings is required. A history of working in a chef or culinary capacity is preferred but not required.
- A complete understanding of all NYS training and compliance requirements, and the ability to develop/track/enforce all needs.
- You must have flexible availability to work.
- You must be able to move independently around the grounds, including on gravel paths.
- You must be able to lift items up to 50 lbs. as needed.
