Belcan, a global leader in engineering and technical services, is seeking an experienced Source Inspector within 60 miles of St. Petersburg, FL (33716). This role supports aerospace and defense programs and focuses on inspection of electronic assemblies, cable harnesses, and related components in accordance with J-STD and IPC/WHMA-A-620 standards. Ideal Candidate

You have a solid background in aerospace and electronic inspection, strong familiarity with J-STD and IPC-620 workmanship standards, and a proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision. You communicate clearly with suppliers and customers, maintain accuracy under pressure, and consistently uphold the highest levels of quality and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Perform source inspections of electrical, mechanical, and electronic assemblies at supplier sites.
• Verify conformance to J-STD-001, IPC/WHMA-A-620, and applicable AS9100 and ISO 9000 quality system requirements.
• Review and validate supplier documentation, including travelers, certificates of conformance, and test reports.
• Conduct in-process and final inspections of wiring harnesses, soldered connections, and mechanical assemblies.
• Document findings, complete inspection reports, and communicate results to both supplier and program teams.
• Support supplier quality improvement by identifying issues and recommending corrective actions.
  
  

Qualifications

• Proven experience in aerospace or electronics inspection, ideally in source or receiving inspection roles.
• Working knowledge of J-STD-001 and IPC/WHMA-A-620 (certification preferred).
• Familiarity with ISO 9001, AS9100, and NADCAP quality systems.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and specifications.
• Excellent documentation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to travel up to 50% to supplier facilities.
• U.S. Citizenship required due to program and contract requirements.
