Metallurgical Engineer
Location: East Peoria, IL | On-site
Duration: 12 months | Start: Sept. 14, 2026
Schedule: Mon–Fri, 7:30 AM–4:00 PM CST
Experience: 5–7 years
Role: Lead manufacturing engineering projects from concept through commissioning, supporting metallurgical processes, mechanical systems, and plant operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage engineering projects, schedules, risks, and suppliers.
- Support heat treat, steel, casting, forging, and other manufacturing processes.
- Perform metallurgical/materials analysis and root-cause investigations.
- Support mechanical systems, equipment layouts, piping, fixtures, and quench systems.
- Provide shop-floor troubleshooting and production support.
- Coordinate with operations, quality, maintenance, controls, and suppliers.
Required:
- Bachelor’s in Mechanical, Metallurgical, Materials Science, or related engineering.
- Manufacturing/heavy-industry experience.
- Project management and strong problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of metallurgical processes and mechanical systems.
- Strong technical communication and cross-functional collaboration.
Preferred: Heat-treat equipment/process experience, capital projects, AutoCAD/Creo, quality/validation, continuous improvement.
Flexibility: Associate degree 7 years or Master’s 3 years may be considered.
Salary : $40 - $45
