Job Description: Pipelayer Laborer
Orlando Florida Area
Install and repair underground pipe systems for utilities like water, sewer, and drainage. The duties include digging and preparing trenches, connecting pipes, sealing joints, and backfilling the trenches after installation. This role requires physical strength, the ability to interpret blueprints, and the use of various hand tools and heavy equipment.
Key responsibilities
- Install and repair:
Assemble, connect, and install pipe systems for water, sewer, and storm drainage. Repair existing pipe structures and systems.
- Site preparation:
Dig and grade trenches to the required depth and slope, using hand tools or heavy machinery like backhoes.
- Pipe handling:
Position pipes correctly, cutting them to length and sealing the joints with cement, glue, or welding equipment.
- Alignment and grading:
Use lasers, transits, and levels to ensure the pipes are laid with the correct slope and alignment, following blueprints and project specifications.
- Backfilling and compacting:
Cover the installed pipes with soil and compact it to secure the pipes in place.
- Material handling:
Operate and control tools and heavy equipment, and manually lift and move materials.
- Safety and compliance:
Follow all safety regulations and company policies. Obtain necessary permits and file paperwork with local authorities.

- Physical strength and stamina
- Ability to interpret blueprints and construction documents
- Proficiency with hand and power tools, as well as heavy equipment
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work well as part of a team
- Knowledge of different pipe materials and construction techniques

Requirements
Minimum of 2 years of general construction experience.
Minimum Level of Education: High School / GED
Preferred License / Training: CDL and OSHA 10, GPS setup & layout, 40 HR Hazwpr
Must pass a drug test and background check prior to initial employment
Compensation / Benefits
Hourly Rate Range: $20 - $32
