Kennel Assistant

BelaCoop Bed & Biscuit is a small luxury boarding facility with a focus on intimate one-on-one care for all of our guests.

Primary Job Responsibilties

Kennel Assistant

• Daily feeding of all animals in the facility under our care.
• Administering medications as instructed by the boarding supervisor or boarding manager.
• Daily cleaning and disinfecting of all kennels, catios, holding areas, and playrooms.
• Monitoring the welfare and behavior of all animals under our care and filling out daily monitoring sheets to track their progress.
• Communicating daily with other staff members to ensure effective operation of the boarding facility.
• Recording all interactions with pets and clients in the appropriate communications section in Ezyvet.
• Washing, drying, folding, and organzing laundry throughout the day.
• Disinfecting all bowls, dishes, and toys daily.
• Conducting one-on-one time with each pet staying with us, engaging each of them in socialization and play.
• Moving dogs and cats throughout the facility safely and efficiently.
• Keep your work space clean and organized so that it can be utilized by all staff members safely and efficiently.
• All other duties as assigned.

Client Service Representative

• Conversing with clients in person and on the phone in a polite, confident, and friendly manner at all times.
• Book boarding reservations over the phone, online, and in person.
• Referencing medical records to make sure the incoming pets meet our requirements before they arrive and obtaining missing medical records when necessary.
• Intaking and discharging pets from the boarding facility.
• Going over intake paperwork with owners, checking for complete and accurate information before they leave.
• Sending owners daily updates and a picture of their pet via Pet Desk.
• Recording all interactions with pets and clients in the appropriate communications section in Ezyvet.
• Communicating daily with the other staff members to ensure effective operation of the boarding facility.
• Keep the front areas clean and organized so that they can be utilized by all staff members safely and efficiently.
• All other duties as assigned.

• Frequently required to bend, stand, stoop, walk, sit, talk, and listen, frequently working in a bent position.
• Frequently use hands to manipulate, handle, or feel; will reach with hands and arms.
• Use strength or agility in capturing and restraining stronger, more active animals.
• Occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.

Work Environment

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to hazards associated with aggressive patients; hazards associated with infected animals and controlled substances; exposure to unpleasant odors and noises; exposure to bites, scratches, and animal waste; possible exposure to contagious diseases. Follow federal and state animal health laws and regulations including OSHA and DEA.

Pay: $14.00 - $17.00 per hour
