POSITION SUMMARY
Belóved Café, a unique coffee and gift shop supporting the Belóved Gallery in Marble Falls, Texas, is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Café Manager. This role is ideal for a dedicated coffee and tea professional with a passion for exceptional customer service, team leadership, and operational excellence. The Café Manager will be responsible for creating a warm, inviting environment for guests, fostering a strong team culture, and maintaining high standards in product quality, merchandising, and day-to-day operations. As part of the Belóved Gallery experience, the Café team receives training to share insights about current exhibits and featured artists, enhancing guest engagement.
Job Type: Full-time, salaried, exempt
Compensation: $61,000 annual salary. Benefits include employer-sponsored medical insurance, six paid holidays, accrual of paid time off (PTO), and participation in the company's 401(k)/Roth retirement plan.
Hours: This exempt management position requires approximately 45 hours per week. While the café operates Monday through Saturday, generally from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., the Café Manager's schedule will vary to provide leadership coverage during key operating hours and to support the team as needed. Occasional evening hours and special events may be required.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Customer Experience & Team Leadership
- Lead by example with a professional, approachable demeanor and a passion for guest engagement.
- Inspire, train, and mentor the café team to deliver exceptional service and uphold company values.
- Develop and implement a structured onboarding and training program for new team members.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations, providing constructive feedback and recognizing achievements.
- Foster a positive, collaborative work environment that encourages growth and teamwork.
- Ensure the café consistently maintains a clean, welcoming, and visually appealing atmosphere.
Operational Excellence
- Oversee all daily café operations, ensuring efficiency, consistency, and adherence to company standards.
- Develop and manage staff schedules to balance coverage needs with employee availability.
- Address staffing challenges, such as call-outs, promptly to ensure seamless operations.
- Ensure opening and closing procedures are completed accurately by the management team and lead baristas, ensuring all areas including the coffee bar, seating areas, kitchen, and restrooms-are clean and organized.
- Provide visible leadership during assigned shifts and coach lead baristas to effectively oversee daily operations in the manager's absence.
Product Quality & Inventory Management
- Maintain beverage quality and consistency by enforcing standardized recipes and preparation techniques.
- Monitor and manage inventory levels, ensuring supplies and retail products are
well-stocked and organized.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors to guarantee timely deliveries and product availability.
- Train team members on new menu items, preparation methods, and promotions to enhance customer satisfaction.
- Oversee the presentation of food items (e.g., pastries) to ensure freshness and visual appeal.
Sales, Financials, & Merchandising
- Track daily sales, expenses, and overall financial performance, identifying areas for improvement.
- Proactively manage costs and seek opportunities to optimize profitability while maintaining quality.
- Oversee merchandising and retail product displays to align with Belóved Café's brand and aesthetic.
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot the Point-of-Sale (POS) system with accuracy and attention to detail.
General Duties
- Uphold uniform and presentation standards to ensure a polished team appearance.
- Oversee completion of weekly task lists, including cleaning, inventory checks, and maintenance tasks.
- Manage routine equipment maintenance and coordinate necessary repairs promptly.
- Collaborate with leadership to implement new initiatives and improvements for café success.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support the café's growth and operational needs.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous experience as a Café Manager, Lead Barista, or other leadership role in food and beverage service is strongly preferred.
- Hands-on experience with professional coffee and espresso equipment.
- Proven leadership and team-building skills with a focus on mentorship and development.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to connect with guests and staff.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Proficiency in POS systems, financial tracking, and inventory management.
- Certified Food Protection Manager (CFPM) certification required or willingness to obtain prior to the start date.
Education & Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of management experience in retail, hospitality, or food service.
- College degree preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, move, push, or pull items weighing up to 35 pounds.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, including shifts of up to 10 hours.
