ENDOSCOPY TECHNICIAN
$18--$22/hour
Part-Time Position. Endoscopy technician needed. Procedure days are every Thursday and one to two Fridays a month. Typical start time ranges from 0630 to 0730. Stop time ranges from 1200-1400. No call, weekends, or holidays!
We are looking for someone to start right away. Experience is not necessary and we are more than happy to train someone that is willing to learn! DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with endoscopy procedures as requested by the physician or registered nurse.
- Work with GI physicians in professional and courteous manner.
- Provide support to Anesthesia department in preparation for daily cases.
- Maintain supply levels & check for outdates
- Set-up, assist and clean-up of rooms and equipment for endoscopy service.
- Follow appropriate methods for cleaning and disinfection of endoscopes.
- Help to turnover rooms in timely fashion.
- Respond appropriately to emergency codes.
- Be an active participant in committees (i.e. Safety Committee, Infection Control).
- Participate in orienting new staff.
- Attend staff meetings and trainings.
- Maintain consistent work attendance and punctuality.
- Understand hazard risk and demonstrate complete understating of established emergency procedures for the Surgery Center.
- Reports incidents or issues through chain of command and maintains confidentiality. Complete all employee/patient incident documentation in a thorough and timely manner.
- Work in a cooperative manner with management/supervision, coworkers, patients and vendors.
- Abide by company policies.
- Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION/LICENSES/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- CPR certification preferred but not required
EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED:
- Basic understanding of Medical Terminology
- Basic understanding of infection control
- Organizational skills and ability to prioritize work flow
- Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations and to work under pressure
