Duties
- Assist with food production and meal preparation, following established recipes and safety guidelines
- Serve meals to residents or patients with friendly and attentive customer service
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen areas, dining rooms, and food handling equipment in accordance with health regulations
- Buss tables, clear trays, and ensure dining areas are tidy before and after meals
- Help with food handling tasks such as portioning, plating, and packaging meals efficiently
- Support dietary department staff by organizing supplies and assisting with inventory management
- Follow proper food safety protocols during all stages of food handling and serving
- Assist with cleaning kitchen tools, utensils, and surfaces to uphold sanitation standards
- Support meal delivery or serving activities within the facility as needed
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely meal service and a positive dining experience for residents or patients
Experience
- Previous experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or the food industry is highly preferred
- Experience in food production, food handling, or culinary roles demonstrates valuable skills for this position
- Familiarity with dietary department operations or dietetics is advantageous but not required
- Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently during busy meal times
- Customer service experience that highlights your ability to communicate warmly and professionally with residents or patients
- Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper cleaning procedures in kitchen environments
- Prior experience in serving meals or assisting with food preparation enhances your ability to excel in this role
