Job Summary:
Maintenance of the golf course, clubhouse grounds and roadways of a leading country club. Ideal candidates will have a positive attitude and be responsible by nature. A successful candidate will be expected to manage work efficiently around member activities while executing daily tasks. Person should be organized, clean, honest, self-motivated and a disciplined team member.
Job Tasks include, but are not limited to:
• Maintains landscape beds around clubhouse and club grounds.
• Rakes and blows leaves.
• Prepares and lays sod.
• Rakes bunkers.
• Trims trees and removes cuttings.
• Loads and unloads materials.
• Cleans gutters, drains, and culverts.
• Waters plants; cuts grass, weeds, and bushes.
• Repairs and maintains driving range tees.
• Cleans equipment used in practice area.
• Aerifies and spikes turfgrass areas.
• Helps with drainage projects.
• Assists in daily course set-up: moves tee markers and changes cups
• Replenishes fuel levels, inspects and cleans equipment used daily; reports equipment problems to supervisors or mechanics immediately
• Utilizes loaders to remove dirt, debris and other materials
• Must have ability to safely operate trucks and light motorized equipment
• Mows greens, tees, collars, approaches, rough and fairways
• Aerates greens
• Operates turf vac, loader-backhoe, fairway and rough aerifier
• Verticuts tees and greens
• Spikes greens
• Operates portable pumps
• Performs other appropriate tasks assigned by the maintenance foreman.
Qualifications:Licenses and Special Requirements:
* Valid Drivers License
Working Conditions:
- The scope of the golf course maintenance requires constant exposure to sunshine and outside elements.
- Spring / Summer: Outside temperature may be up to or exceed 90 degrees. May be exposed to inclement weather conditions including, but not limited to, rain and wind.
- Fall / Winter: Outside temperatures may reach 40 degrees or below. May be exposed to inclement weather including frost, rain and wind.
Physical Requirements:
- Able to lift and transport materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis and up to 70 pounds on an occasional basis. Employees are encouraged to request assistance in lifting or carrying objects that weigh more than 55 pounds.
- Must be able to traverse up to five miles during the course of a workday.
- Must be able to move about a tee, fairway, or green by stooping, bending, or squatting frequently during the course of a workday. May require periods of prolonged sitting or standing.
- Requires a full range of physical motion in order to operate manual, gasoline engine, and electrically powered tools and equipment, to move throughout the golf course, including climbing hills and slopes.
