BEK Developers is seeking a highly motivated, entrepreneurial Land Acquisition Associate to lead the sourcing and origination of ground-up development opportunities. This role is responsible for building and maintaining a pipeline of both off-market and marketed land opportunities, with an initial focus on Florida and potential expansion into other high-growth markets over time.
The ideal candidate is a proactive deal originator with a “hunter” mentality - someone who thrives on uncovering opportunities, building relationships, and consistently generating actionable leads. This individual will partner closely with leadership and the underwriting team, playing a critical role at the front end of the development lifecycle.
This is a high-visibility role within a lean organization, offering direct access to decision-makers and exposure across acquisitions, development, and asset strategy.

BEK Developers is an active commercial real estate developer and owner/operator with a portfolio of approximately 40 assets. The firm is shifting its focus toward ground-up retail and mixed-use development, and this role represents one of the first hires in building out that capability offering the right candidate a rare opportunity to help shape the platform from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities
Pipeline Development & Deal Sourcing
- Identify and source land acquisition opportunities for retail and mixed-use development
- Proactively pursue off-market opportunities through direct outreach to landowners, brokers, and developers
- Maintain an active presence in the market, including frequent in-person meetings and site visits
- Track marketed opportunities through brokerage networks and online platforms
- Build and manage a consistent pipeline of qualified sites
Market Research & Site Evaluation
- Identify high-growth corridors and target submarkets
- Evaluate site fundamentals such as residential density, traffic patterns, access, and retail demand
- Track demographic and development trends to inform sourcing strategy
- Maintain a database of target sites, ownership, and outreach activity
Relationship Management
- Build relationships with brokers, landowners, developers, and municipal stakeholders
- Establish BEK as an active and credible buyer in target markets
- Leverage network and relationships to uncover both on- and off-market opportunities
Deal Coordination
- Present opportunities internally with sufficient detail for underwriting
- Partner with internal team on initial screening and handoff for financial analysis
- Assist with early-stage negotiations and LOI execution as needed
Qualifications
- 2–5 years of experience in commercial real estate (land brokerage, site selection, acquisitions, or development preferred)
- Demonstrated ability to source deals or generate leads
- Understanding of retail site fundamentals and basic zoning/land use considerations
- Familiarity with the Florida market strongly preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Finance, Business, Economics, or related field
