Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Industrial Maintenance Technician/Welder to join our manufacturing facility team. This role is vital in ensuring the continuous operation, safety, and efficiency of our production equipment and infrastructure. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in industrial maintenance, welding, and mechanical systems, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues using technical expertise. You will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and optimizing machinery and facilities, utilizing your knowledge of hydraulics, electrical systems, schematics, and programmable logic controllers (PLCs). This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where proactive maintenance and technical problem-solving drive success.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment, including hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Conduct welding operations using welding techniques to repair or fabricate metal components according to specifications.
- Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and control diagrams to diagnose issues accurately.
- Utilize precision measuring instruments such as ammeters, ohmmeters, and other tools to analyze electrical circuits and mechanical parts.
- Operate field service equipment including scissor lifts and other industrial machinery safely to access high or hard-to-reach areas.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities using CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) software for tracking work orders and asset history.
- Troubleshoot low voltage and high voltage electrical systems with expertise in industrial electrician practices.
- Support customer service efforts by providing technical assistance during field service visits or repairs.
- Follow safety protocols related to HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning/Refrigeration), high voltage systems, and general industrial safety standards.
- Assist with technical sales support by advising on maintenance solutions or equipment upgrades as needed.
Experience
- Proven experience working within a manufacturing facility environment with a focus on industrial maintenance and mechanical systems.
- Strong background in welding techniques specific to welding standards or similar regional practices.
- Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), schematics interpretation, and troubleshooting automation systems.
- Hands-on experience with CMMS software for maintenance planning and record keeping.
- Knowledge of hydraulics, HVAC/R systems, low voltage electrical circuits, and the use of precision measuring instruments such as ammeters and ohmmeters.
- Ability to operate scissor lifts safely while adhering to OSHA regulations or equivalent safety standards.
- Industrial electrician experience with high voltage systems is highly desirable.
- Experience working in field service roles or providing technical support directly at customer sites is preferred.
- Military background or training in industrial mechanics can be an asset due to disciplined approach to safety and procedures.
