Facilities Maintenance Technician

BrightKey is hiring a Facilities Maintenance Technician at our Odenton, MD location. We are seeking a versatile individual to join our team, capable of handling a diverse range of responsibilities including facilities maintenance and driving/courier duties.

Position Overview:

As a Facilities Maintenance Technician, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the functionality and appearance of our facilities while also providing essential transportation and courier services. You will collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to address maintenance needs promptly and efficiently, ensuring minimal disruption to operations. This multifaceted role requires a proactive and adaptable approach, as you will be responsible for a variety of tasks ranging from routine maintenance to special projects and landscaping. Driving duties consist mainly of delivering mail and parcels in the local area among company and client locations.

• On-site, First shift, Monday through Friday - 40 hours per week

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and oversee maintenance activities facilities maintenance for HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, parking lot, lighting, and other facility-related components
• Conduct routine inspections to identify and address maintenance issues proactively
• Liaise with vendors and contractors to schedule and oversee repairs, installations, and upgrades
• Perform troubleshooting and repairs for facility-related equipment and systems as needed
• Safely operate company vehicles (typically driving small/medium vans, no CDL required) to transport mail, parcels, goods, equipment, and personnel between locations
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and perform routine maintenance checks
• Follow established routes and schedules to ensure timely delivery and pick-up of items
• Execute special projects related to facility improvements or modifications
• Assist with landscaping tasks as required
• Adhere to all traffic laws and company safety protocols while driving
• Assist with loading and unloading cargo as necessary
• Provide exceptional customer service during courier interactions
  
  

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in facilities maintenance, preferably within a warehouse or industrial setting
• Ability to operate basic landscaping equipment such as lawn mowers, trimmers, and leaf blowers
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
• Prior experience in courier or delivery services is advantageous
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Employment is contingent upon completing drug and background screening
