Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Host role based in the New York City Metropolitan Area. The Host will be the first point of contact for guests, greeting them warmly, managing waitlists, and seating guests efficiently while balancing server sections. Daily responsibilities include answering questions about the café, providing menu guidance, and coordinating with servers and kitchen staff to support smooth service. The Host will assist with maintaining a clean and organized entry area, monitoring guest flow, and supporting guest satisfaction by responding promptly to concerns or special requests. The role may also include answering phones, handling basic to-go order inquiries, and assisting with occasional sales of café items or promotions.
Qualifications
- Strong Communication skills, including clear, courteous verbal interaction with guests and team members.
- Proven Customer Service abilities, with a focus on creating positive guest experiences and resolving concerns professionally.
- Experience in Food & Beverage environments, with an understanding of basic café or restaurant operations.
- Ability to support Sales efforts through upselling specials, promotions, and featured items when appropriate.
- Willingness to participate in Training and continuous learning to maintain service standards and operational procedures.
- Reliable, punctual, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-traffic setting.
- Basic math and point-of-sale familiarity are beneficial.
- Previous host, front-of-house, or customer-facing experience is preferred but not required.
