Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Field Installer / Welder / Ironworker to join our dynamic team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse construction projects, specializing in metal fabrication, welding, and structural installation. You will be responsible for installing, fabricating, and welding metal components on-site, ensuring all work meets safety standards and project specifications. This position is vital in delivering high-quality craftsmanship while adhering to strict safety protocols and industry standards.
Core Responsibilities
- Finishing System Installation: Assemble, position, and anchor structural steel, ironwork, and industrial finishing system components.
- On-Site Metalwork & Welding: Perform field modifications, structural fits, and positional welding to ensure precise alignment.
- Rigging & Material Handling: Safely utilize rigging techniques to move, lift, and position heavy steel structures and industrial equipment.
- Equipment Operation: Safely operate aerial work platforms, including scissor lifts and boom lifts, to complete high-altitude tasks.
- Tool Handling: Efficiently operate a wide variety of industrial power tools (including grinders, roto-hammers, drills, and impact wrenches).
- Safety First: Adhere strictly to all on-site safety protocols and consistently wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Trade Experience: Proven background in field installation, ironworking, mechanical assembly, or industrial welding.
- Tool Proficiency: Strong, hands-on experience using heavy-duty power tools like grinders, roto-hammers, drills, and impact guns.
- Rigging Knowledge: Practical understanding of basic rigging concepts and safe lifting capacities.
- Equipment Operation: Comfortable working at heights and experienced in operating scissor lifts or aerial platforms.
- Physical Demands: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for long periods, climb ladders, and work outdoors or in varying industrial environments.
- Reliability: Must have a valid driver’s license, dependable transportation to Hodges, SC, and a strong work ethic.
Responsibilities
- Perform welding using FCAW , MIG , and SMAW
- Measure and mark materials precisely
- Operate power tools, hand tools, plasma cutters, and rigging equipment safely and efficiently
- Fabricate metal components such as structural steel, conveyor, and general layout
- Use forklifts, and other machinery to lift, position, and secure heavy materials during installation or fabrication processes
- Adhere strictly to safety protocols on construction sites to prevent accidents and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations
Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
