About the Role
We’re looking for an Electrical Controls Engineer to design, build, and support automation systems for industrial and manufacturing environments. This is a hands-on role where you’ll work across hardware and software, lead projects, troubleshoot issues, and help improve system performance.
You’ll also mentor junior engineers and work directly with customers—so we need someone who’s both technically strong and comfortable communicating.
What You’ll Do
- Design and develop custom control systems and automation solutions
- Program and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, and VFDs
- Build intuitive HMI screens for monitoring and control
- Integrate systems with sensors, networks, and robotic equipment
- Test and validate systems to ensure performance and safety standards
- Troubleshoot issues and minimize downtime in production environments
- Create documentation (schematics, code, BOMs, manuals)
- Collaborate with engineering, assembly, and field service teams
- Identify opportunities to improve automation, efficiency, and safety
- Train customers and operators on system use
- Provide technical support directly to customers
Qualifications
- 4–7 years of experience in controls or automation engineering related to industrial equipment
- Bachelor's or associate degree in electrical engineering (or equivalent experience)
- Strong experience with:
- PLCs & HMIs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens)
- Industrial networks (EtherNet/IP, Profinet)
- Servo motors, VFDs, sensors, and instrumentation
- Electrical design (AutoCAD Electrical or similar)
- Working knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
- Familiarity with industry standards (NEC, NFPA 70, UL 508A)

This role may require occasional travel (10–20%), including some international trips.
