Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Mental Health Therapist to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in various therapeutic modalities and demonstrate a commitment to providing high-quality mental health care. This role involves working with individuals, families, and groups to address a wide range of mental health issues, utilizing evidence-based practices to support clients in achieving their therapeutic goals.
Duties
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and diagnostic evaluations for clients.
- Provide individual and group counseling sessions utilizing techniques such as cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, and motivational interviewing.
- Develop and implement treatment plans tailored to the unique needs of each client.
- Engage in crisis intervention and management strategies for clients in acute distress.
- Offer child and family counseling services, with a focus on pediatric populations.
- Facilitate group therapy sessions that promote healing and connection among participants.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation, including ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding for insurance purposes.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations while managing confidential patient records.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care for clients with complex needs, including those with developmental disabilities or chronic pain.
- Conduct research as needed to stay informed about best practices in mental health treatment.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field is required.
- Valid licensure as a Registered or Licensed LCSW, LMHC in the state of Florida.
- Experience with various therapeutic approaches, including but not limited to: behavioral therapy, art therapy, dance therapy, and addiction counseling.
- Proficiency in crisis management techniques and experience working with individuals experiencing PTSD or grief.
- Familiarity with telehealth platforms and experience providing remote counseling services is preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and experience with medical records management is essential.
- Strong skills in patient assessment, case management, and direct support are necessary for success in this role.
- Previous hospital or clinic experience is highly desirable; familiarity with inpatient and outpatient settings is a plus.
