As a Support Staff Specialist at Behavioral Healthcare Partners (BHP), you'll be the first person many clients meet when they begin their journey toward mental health and recovery. Whether you're welcoming someone at the front desk, answering an important phone call, or helping coordinate appointments, you'll play a vital role in creating a positive experience while supporting the delivery of compassionate behavioral healthcare.
What You'll Do
As a Support Staff Specialist, you will:
- Welcome clients, families, and visitors while creating a professional, compassionate, and trauma-informed environment.
- Serve as the first point of contact by answering phones, assisting clients, and directing individuals to the appropriate services.
- Complete client registration, appointment scheduling, insurance verification, and payment collection in accordance with agency procedures.
- Maintain accurate client information and documentation within the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
- Support clinicians by coordinating appointments, maintaining provider schedules, and assisting with daily administrative operations.
- Prepare, organize, and maintain electronic and paper documentation to support quality client care.
- Collaborate with clinical, billing, quality improvement, and administrative staff to ensure efficient workflow and exceptional client service.
- Protect confidential information while maintaining compliance with agency policies, HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, CARF standards, Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (OhioMHAS) requirements, and other applicable regulations.
- Participate in training, quality improvement initiatives, and organizational projects that strengthen services and improve the client experience.
- Support agency operations by adapting to changing priorities, providing coverage as needed, and contributing to a collaborative team environment.

Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other computer applications
- Commitment to professionalism, confidentiality, teamwork, and continuous improvement
Preferred Qualifications
- One year of customer service, administrative support, medical office, or behavioral healthcare experience
- Experience using an Electronic Health Record (EHR) system
