Position Summary: This position is responsible for assisting in the completion of month end, cost reports, budgets, ad hoc reporting and analysis, governmental and other miscellaneous reports. This position will interact with assigned facility CEOs and CFOs; facility Business Office Managers, corporate personnel and government agencies to ensure completion of month-end closing as well as balance sheet account reconciliations.

The Assistant Controller will have the opportunity to lead and oversee revenue cycle operations to optimize financial results and improve patient experience across multiple hospital and inpatient facilities and outpatient services. In addition to overseeing routine financial operations, this role position will partner with coding, clinical, finance, compliance, and operations leadership to align the revenue cycle function with organizational goals around growth, quality, and compliance. The position assists the Regional Financial Director in reviewing month-end results and resolving complex account reconciliation issues. Success in this role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, a solid understanding of GAAP and financial systems, proficiency in Excel, and the ability to communicate effectively across departments and with senior leadership in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Creates and monitors proper reporting tools for analytical review of the performance of the revenue cycle, including accounts receivable, write offs, payment posting, and charge entry.
- Assists the Regional Financial Director in the review of month end close and helps reconcile problem accounts.
- Collaborates with facilities in the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses. Assists Regional Financial Director in the preparation and review of the annual budget for all assigned facilities.
- Assists the Regional Financial Director in the review of month end close and help reconcile problem accounts.
- Prepares and analyzes key figures, proforma, cost and ad hoc reports. Assists facilities in development and maintenance of the APC/DOI reports and completion of state and federal reports. Evaluates the risks and opportunities and proactively communicates them to the assigned facilities.
- Evaluates and make improvements to internal accounting processes ensuring that practices are in line with overall goals of the organization.

Requirements:
- Bachelors' degree required, Masters preferred
- 3-5 years of related experience required, 5-8 preferred
- Strong Knowledge of Healthcare Revenue Cycle
- Working knowledge of GAAP and FASB.

- Strong Communication Skills (written & verbal).
