Statement of Purpose

Responsible for operation of the print shop.  Performs courier service.

Major Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities

• Processes BHS printing orders in a high-quality and timely manner.
• Communicates clearly and courteously with staff at all BHS facilities as well as with vendors.
• Maintains adequate supply of printing materials and places orders as needed.
• Keeps records of pending and completed orders and purchases.
• Keeps print shop in a neat, clean, safe, and well-organized manner.
• Ensures proper and economical use of equipment and supplies.
• Performs routine and specially scheduled courier service as authorized.
• Maintains log of vehicle mileage, destinations and travel times.
• Responsible for routine vehicle inspection.  Requests maintenance as required.
• Works as a member of the team, including assisting in orientation of any newly assigned staff and interns/volunteers.
• Maintains familiarity with BHS policies and procedures and other applicable regulations.
• Represents BHS well in all contacts.  Maintains cultural sensitivity at all times.
• Attends meetings and participates in committees as assigned.
• May perform other duties as assigned. or required

Printer Competencies and Performance Expectations

All Printers are expected to:

• Process high-quality printing orders in a timely manner.
• Have a good understanding of computer operations needed for Print Shop functions.
• Obey traffic laws.
• Provide safe and efficient courier services
• Maintain health and safety standards

Prerequisite Qualifications

Following are the qualifications required to perform the essential functions of this position.  Qualifications may be subject to modification based on the Americans with Disabilities Act.

High School graduate with one-year experience as a printer. Ability to follow directions and able to proof read submitted documented orders. Work with minimal supervision.

Communication, computer, writing, map-reading, record keeping and math skills adequate for performance of job duties.  Understanding of computer operations including Outlook, Microsoft Office especially Word and Publisher, Adobe products and other programs required for successful printing operations and recordkeeping.

Must have valid California driver’s license with good driving record for driving BHS vehicles.  Must have liability insurance when driving personal vehicle on BHS business.

Able to stand, stoop, bend, squat and reach for purpose of performing job duties such as handling materials stocked on shelves, filing, lifting, and inspecting and servicing equipment. Routinely lift and move items weighing up to twenty-five pounds and occasionally up to seventy pounds; is expected to ask for assistance and use a dolly or cart for any heavy items. Vision, hearing, manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination must be adequate for performance of job duties. Duties may require occasional use of stool or small ladder.

Salary : $18 - $22
