What You’ll Do (Volunteer Responsibilities)
- Assist teachers with daily classroom activities, routines, and supervision
- Support children during structured activities, free play, meals, rest time, and outdoor play
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and child-friendly classroom environment
- Observe children and communicate anything relevant to the teacher or program coordinator
- Follow all safety guidelines, behavior support procedures, and confidentiality policies
- Engage warmly with children, families, and staff members
- Participate in optional volunteer trainings related to child development and early education
- At least 16–18 years old (depending on center requirements)
- Passionate about working with young children
- Reliable, caring, patient, and enthusiastic
- Able to work cooperatively with teachers and other volunteers
- Willing to learn basic safety procedures and early childhood best practices
- Culturally sensitive and committed to supporting an inclusive environment
- CPR/First Aid training is a plus (some programs may offer free training)
While this is an unpaid volunteer position, volunteers receive:
