The intern will focus on gathering and organizing clinical outcomes data to support payer discussions and demonstrate the value of our opioid addiction treatment programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Pull, clean, and organize clinical and operational data related to behavioral health and opioid use disorder (OUD) treatment.
- Track and report on key performance indicators such as patient retention, treatment adherence, appointment attendance, and quality-of-care measures.
- Assist in preparing data summaries, reports, and visualizations to support contract negotiations with payor partners.
- Assist in using historical data to forecast admission trends and predict patient dropouts.
- Collaborate with clinical and administrative leaders to identify meaningful outcomes that demonstrate treatment effectiveness and program impact.
- Conduct secondary research on payer requirements, value-based care benchmarks, and best practices in addiction treatment outcomes reporting.
- Help document data sources, methodologies, and insights to build internal knowledge and replicable reporting processes.
- Currently pursuing a degree in Public Health, Health Administration, Health Informatics, Behavioral Health, Data Science, or a related field.
- Strong interest in behavioral health, substance use disorder treatment, and healthcare policy or reimbursement models.
- Proficiency in Excel required; experience with SQL, Power BI, or Tableau is a plus.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and communication skills.
- Comfortable working independently and handling confidential health data responsibly.
- Prior coursework or projects involving healthcare data, clinical quality measures, or behavioral health evaluation.
- Understanding of Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) and patient engagement in addiction recovery.
- Gain real-world experience using data to demonstrate clinical effectiveness in behavioral health care.
- Understand how outcomes data supports payer relationships and value-based service models.
- Build skills in data reporting, healthcare analytics, and collaborative project work.
