What are the responsibilities and job description for the Security Guard position at Behavioral Crossroads Recovery?
Behavioral Crossroads Recovery is looking for a part-time Security Guard to join their team! This position will work up to 25 hours per week.
This position reports to the Regional Clinical Director, and is responsible for maintaining a safe and orderly environment for clients, staff, and visitors at all times, using verbal de-escalation techniques to manage tense or disruptive situations.
This position will monitor facility entrances, exits, and common areas to prevent unauthorized access, and conduct routine patrols of the interior and exterior of the facility. The Security Guard will respond to incidents, disturbances, or emergencies and assist staff as needed, coordinating with local law enforcement, emergency services, or crisis response teams when necessary.
Successful candidates for this position should meet the following qualifications:
- High school diploma/GED required. NJ SAMS experience also preferred.
- Previous experience in security, healthcare, behavioral health, or social services preferred.
- Training or experience in crisis intervention, de-escalation, or trauma informed care strongly preferred.
- Law enforcement experience strongly preferred.
- CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain upon hire).
The successful candidate must have the ability to remain calm, professional, and compassionate in high stress situations, possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, and an ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately. Basic computer skills are required for incident report writing and other documentation.
