Role Description

The Behavior Technician (ABA) is a full-time, on-site role based in Central, South, and North Massachusetts (community-based, travel within region). This position provides direct one-on-one ABA therapy to children, implementing individualized treatment plans under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Daily tasks include collecting and recording behavioral data, following behavior intervention and skill acquisition programs, and supporting the development of communication, social, and daily living skills. The Behavior Technician collaborates with clinical supervisors and family members, participates in team meetings and training, and maintains a safe, engaging environment for clients.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 ABA sessions following individualized treatment plans developed by a BCBA
  • Implement skill acquisition programs (communication, daily living, social skills, etc.)
  • Implement behavior support plans to reduce challenging behaviors safely and consistently
  • Collect accurate, real-time data on client progress using electronic systems
  • Collaborate with BCBAs, families, and other team members to ensure consistent implementation
  • Participate in ongoing training, supervision, and performance feedback
  • Maintain professional, respectful, and culturally responsive interactions with clients and caregivers


Qualifications

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Passion for working with children and families
  • Interest in autism, developmental disabilities, and behavioral health
  • Reliable transportation and willingness to travel within assigned service area
  • Ability to follow structured treatment plans and accept coaching and feedback
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Availability for afternoon/evening and/or weekend hours (most sessions occur when clients are home)


Preferred:

  • Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) credential, or willingness to obtain RBT within the first few months of employment
  • Prior experience in ABA, special education, childcare, or human services
  • Bilingual (especially Spanish/English) candidates strongly encouraged to apply
