Job description:
The Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) implements Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and social skills training sessions under supervision of a licensed behavior analyst and/or licensed psychologist in multiple schools in northwest Mississippi. These sessions typically include social skills training to students with a variety of disabilities. RBTs teach learning readiness skills, activities of daily living, conversational skills, job skills, conflict resolution skills, and distress tolerance skills as part of a comprehensive clinic-based program. RBTs implement 1:1 and small group Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) sessions and behavioral intervention programs with children and adolescents. The RBT position is a variable hour position.
This position is for services in the Prentiss and Tippah counties of Mississippi. It is a seasonal position in that the current position is based on the school year, July to May. Hours are set based on caseload requirements and only during the time when children are in school.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
· College coursework in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, or a related human services field.
· Experience working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders or other developmental disabilities.
· Experience working with individuals who exhibit challenging behaviors.
· Possession of BACB's Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification (or at minimum documented training in behavior analysis) and/or an applicant with a bachelors in psychology or a closely related field and experience working with small groups and behavior skills training will be given preference.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
· Qualified applicants must be at least 18 years old and have a clean background check.
· High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
· Working phone, ability to access email, and general computer skills/knowledge.
· Reliable and transportation that is insured in the state of Mississippi. Use of own vehicle is required.
· Valid proof of insurance and current driver’s license maintained in personnel file.
· A candidate who is already a certified Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) must present a certificate of completion of the 40 hours of education modules and a copy of their most recent competency assessment.
· A candidate who does not already possess certification must be able to complete the Registered Behavior Technician certification (course work and testing must be completed within a 60 day window from start to finish).
