Job Overview
This is for a full-time or part-time PTA role at one ALF in Lake Placid. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will work under the supervision of licensed physical therapists to provide high-quality care to patients recovering from injuries, surgeries, or managing chronic conditions. You will play a vital role in helping patients regain mobility and improve their overall quality of life through tailored therapeutic interventions.
Duties
- Assist physical therapists in developing and implementing individualized treatment plans for patients.
- Provide hands-on therapy techniques including orthopedics and other modalities as directed.
- Monitor patient progress and document treatment outcomes accurately.
- Educate patients and their families on care plans and home exercise programs to promote recovery.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Participate in discharge planning to facilitate smooth transitions for patients leaving therapy.
- Actively lead exercise classes, participate in community events, and work collaboratively with community personnel.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to safety protocols.
Requirements
- REQUIRED current PTA license in Florida
- Associate degree in Physical Therapy Assistance.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and basic physiology is essential.
- Experience or familiarity with geriatrics, discharge planning, and care plans is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team in various settings.
