Job Summary
As a member of the Millwork Shop team, you are responsible for managing daily operations. You have been entrusted with running a productive workshop, which means that the space must be clean and safe, with working equipment, as well as capable staff members that are able to manufacture products.
General Accountabilities
· Oversee the shop staff and equipment, ensuring all operations are being carried out in accordance with company policies and safety regulations
· Plan, organize and assign projects as they are presented
· Review and submit pre-project plans (materials) and post-project forms (data) to the Materials Manager
· Implement new processes and procedures as needed
· Ensure that production is running efficiently and that all materials and products meet quality standards
· Interview, hire and train shop personnel
· Supervise, train and retain shop staff, providing guidance and feedback as needed to ensure professional goals are set and worked towards
· Monitor the progress of projects to ensure deadlines are met
· Coordinate with other departments to ensure the smooth and efficient flow of operations
· Responsible for or making sure the equipment works properly, and making repairs, or scheduling necessary maintenance.
· Diagnose and resolve operational problems and needs as they arise
· Comply with all OSHA and company safety rules.
