Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration systems, and ventilation equipment using schematics and technical manuals.
- Install new HVAC equipment following design specifications and schematics, ensuring compliance with safety standards and building codes.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as filter replacements, system calibrations, and cleaning to maximize efficiency and lifespan of equipment.
- Troubleshoot complex mechanical issues involving refrigeration, refrigeration systems, plumbing connections, and electrical components using tools like ohmmeters.
- Conduct field service visits to property sites for emergency repairs or scheduled maintenance, ensuring minimal downtime.
- Read and interpret HVAC design plans, schematics, and technical drawings to guide installation or repair work accurately.
- Maintain detailed service records, work logs, and reports documenting all repairs performed for accountability and future reference.
- Utilize welding skills when necessary for equipment repair or modification projects; operate various tools including power drills, pipe cutters, and other mechanical devices.
- Assist with property maintenance tasks related to HVAC systems such as ductwork adjustments or boiler servicing to ensure optimal indoor air quality.
- Support team efforts by sharing mechanical knowledge on appliance repair or HVAC/R (refrigeration) systems to foster continuous improvement.
Experience
- Proven experience as a service technician within the construction or property maintenance industries with a focus on HVAC systems.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration (HVAC/R), plumbing, boilers, and appliance repair.
- Familiarity with schematics, technical drawings, and HVAC design principles necessary for accurate troubleshooting and installation.
- Ability to operate diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters effectively in diagnosing electrical issues within complex mechanical systems.
- Demonstrated skill in equipment repair including welding or other mechanical fabrication techniques preferred.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience operating
