CDL-A Tanker Driver Requirements

• Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License
• Minimum of two years of recent, verifiable CDL-A driving experience
• Recent tanker driving experience required
• Valid tanker endorsement required
• Proven tanker experience in tanker inspections, loading, unloading, hose connections, and emergency procedures
• Ability to safely manage liquid surge and changing vehicle dynamics

Tanker Driver Responsibilities

• Safely transport non-hazardous liquid bulk freight
• Complete thorough pre-trip and post-trip equipment inspections
• Inspect tanks, valves, hoses, fittings, seals, and safety equipment
• Follow all loading, unloading, product-handling, and customer procedures
• Verify shipping documents, bills of lading, and product information
• Comply with DOT, FMCSA, terminal, and customer safety requirements
• Maintain accurate electronic logs and delivery documentation
• Immediately report equipment concerns, spills, leaks, or safety issues
• Communicate professionally with dispatchers, terminal personnel, and customers
• Maintain a strong commitment to safety, service, and regulatory compliance
