Weekend Dispatcher

We are currently hiring an experienced weekend dispatcher to join our growing team at our corporate office located in East St. Louis, IL. The successful candidate must possess self-motivation and critical thinking. Previous Bulk Commodity experience is preferred.

This is a full time, Hybrid-Remote weekend position.

Schedule: Friday 10a-3p (in office), Saturday 7am-3pm (in office), Saturday 3pm – Monday 4am (remote on call)

Pay: $65 - $70K a year depending on experience.

Description:

Responsible for the movement, tracking and scheduling of freight, utilization of drivers, and the deployment of available equipment to maximize utilization and productivity while ensuring prompt, courteous and efficient service to all customers.

Principal Responsibilities

• Utilize independent judgment and effectively manage work assignments.
• Continuously interact with customers, as required.
• Create and maximize capacity by ensuring productive use of all available assets, equipment and drivers.
• Ensure maximum productivity by achieving or exceeding Company-established goals.
• Assign loads based on availability and location of equipment and driver.
• Dispatch drivers and equipment to ensure efficient utilization with minimum delay time.
• Maintain communication and ensure drivers have adequate knowledge and resources to accomplish assigned duties.
• Administers and supports safety to ensure a safe work place and to be in compliance with DOT regulations and multi-state laws.
• Coordinates equipment repair with appropriate terminal or vendor to reduce mechanical failures and delays.
• Completes necessary paperwork accurately and in a timely manner to ensure an efficient and steady flow of information.
• Meet committed delivery times while ensuring quality service
• Communicate effectively both in person, electronically and on the phone.
• Ensure route completion via the driver check-in process.
• Report driver performance issues or concerns to appropriate management for resolution.
• Must be willing and able to perform all other job-related duties as assigned by management.
• Knowledge of TMW software, Samsara and Dry Bulk commodities a plus
