Job Summary
The Director, Program Management is a core member of the R&D Program Management team and will support cross-functional planning, coordination, and execution of an assigned drug development program within the Company's portfolio. The Director will operate as a critical partner with Program Leadership, bringing both operational discipline and strategic perspectives to the program team.
In addition to driving operational rigor within the program team, preparing high-quality program materials, and ensuring timely execution of program plans, the Director will lead ad hoc cross-functional working groups and drive strategic planning activities as needed. The Director will be a trusted partner across R&D, CMC/Technical Operations, Medical Affairs, Alliance Management, and G&A functions, maintaining alignment between program priorities and program timelines and activities.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable operating amid ambiguity in a fast-paced environment while still ensuring the team has clear plans, risks are tracked and mitigated, and program decisions are well-informed — enabling the smooth advancement of a clinical-stage development program within Immunology & Inflammation (I&I). At the Director level, this individual is expected to exercise a high degree of independent judgment, serve as the primary operational voice of the program, and contribute to the strategic direction of the asset in close partnership with Program Leadership.
Work Arrangement & Location:
Hybrid - This position follows a hybrid work schedule, requiring a minimum of two (2) days on-site per week — currently designated as Tuesday and Wednesday. Additional on-site days may be required based on business needs, team priorities, or leadership direction.

A discretionary annual bonus and long-term incentive award (e.g., equity) may be available based on individual and Company performance.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Support program leadership in development and maintenance of integrated project plans, including development strategies, timelines, scenario plans, budgets, resource planning, goal setting and risk assessment/monitoring.
- Program Management SME delivering as a key partner to program leadership and providing strategic thought partnership to Program Leaders, the Program Team, Development Team and Portfolio Leadership when necessary.
- Coordinate cross-functional team meetings, develop agendas, track action items and decisions through meeting minutes, and ensure timely follow-through to maintain discipline in program execution.
- Anticipate, organize, and lead cross-functional preparation of high-quality program updates, dashboards, and other deliverables to provide program updates and guide decision-making at key governance meetings and leadership reviews.
- Establish and maintain accurate and updated program documentation, including risk logs, decision trackers, key assumptions, and milestone summaries; responsible for delivering the risk management plan, including risk mitigation strategies.
- Lead and facilitate selected cross-functional working groups as an extension of the Program Leaders when needed.
- Contribute to the design and continuous improvement of program management frameworks, governance models, and organizational infrastructure to support a growing and evolving R&D pipeline.
- Foster a collaborative, solutions-oriented environment to enable high-performing teams with multiple cross-functional stakeholders
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
- Education: Bachelor's degree required in life sciences, engineering, or a related field; advanced degree (MS, MBA, or PhD) preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in program management within the biopharmaceutical or biotechnology industry, with at least 5 years in a role with direct project management accountability for a clinical-stage or late-stage development asset.
- Deep expertise in all phases of drug development, including IND-enabling studies, Phase 1–3 clinical execution, marketing submission strategy (NDA/BLA), and commercial readiness planning.
- Demonstrated experience leading and/or facilitating program review or equivalent governance processes, including the preparation of executive- and board-level program presentations.
- Fluency in Smartsheets as the preferred tool for operational management and how to build plans and utilize its full potential to track progress, drive team/functional accountability and communicate status to an executive audience
- Background in global or affiliate commercial/marketing, value & access or market insights a plus.
- Prior experience operating in a small or mid-size biotech environment a plus
- Proven track record of driving cross-functional alignment and accountability in complex matrix organizations, with demonstrated ability to influence senior scientific and operational leadership.
- Strong scientific literacy in drug development modalities relevant to the company's pipeline; experience in immunology, inflammation, or rare disease therapeutic areas a significant advantage.
- Builds effective cross-functional program teams by establishing clear expectations, fostering accountability, and creating an environment where team members feel ownership over their workstreams and are set up to deliver.
- Comfortable making decisions and moving work forward in ambiguous situations, knowing when to escalate and when to act — and bringing a clear rationale to both.
- Addresses difficult program conversations — including timeline pressures, resource constraints, and risk trade-offs — directly and constructively, maintaining team trust while keeping discussions focused on solutions.
- Maintains a communication cadence within the program team that is proactive and inclusive, ensuring information flows efficiently across functions and that gaps in alignment are identified and closed quickly.
