Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Overnight Caregiver to provide high-quality care and support to individuals in need during nighttime hours. Duties
- Monitor residents’ health status by observing vital signs, behavior, and overall condition during overnight hours.
- Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support.
- Administer medications accurately following care plans while adhering to HIPAA regulations to maintain confidentiality.
- Respond promptly and effectively to emergencies or changes in residents’ conditions using CPR and first aid skills.
- Support residents with Alzheimer’s, dementia, or other memory impairments through specialized care techniques.
- Prepare nutritious meals and snacks aligned with dietary needs and preferences for residents or clients.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment by performing light housekeeping and sanitation tasks.
- Use patient monitoring tools such as Hoyer lifts or other assistive devices to ensure safe transfers and mobility assistance for individuals with disabilities or mobility challenges.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in home health care, assisted living, nursing homes, or group home settings.
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques, vital signs monitoring, and medication administration.
- Certification in CPR and first aid is required; additional training in dementia or Alzheimer’s care is preferred.
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure privacy and confidentiality of patient information.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, or memory impairments such as dementia.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely using appropriate equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary.
- Strong interpersonal skills combined with patience, empathy, and professionalism to support diverse resident needs.
- Prior experience with care plans development and implementation is advantageous for success in this role.
