Floor Cleaner

Asbury Pointe is looking for a part time floor cleaner. Asbury Pointe is a premier independent living center in Getzville, New York.  

Hours: Monday-Friday 8pm-midnight

Pay: $17.00/hr 

 JOB SUMMARY: This role is responsible for maintaining clean and safe floor surfaces by thoroughly sweeping, mopping, and/or scrubbing tile floors during non-business hours. The Floor Cleaner will utilize common floor cleaning products, equipment, and floor machines to ensure a sanitary and presentable environment. Success in this position requires the physical capacity to perform the essential functions of the job effectively for extended periods.

 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.      Lifting floor mats out of the way to clean underneath.

2.      Thoroughly sweep and mop all tile floor surfaces.

3.      Maintain the cleanliness and proper functioning of cleaning equipment and ensure adequate supplies are available.

4.      Assist with other cleaning tasks as needed to support overall kitchen safety and cleanliness.

5.      Move equipment or racks as necessary to access all floor areas for cleaning.

6.       Operate a floor machine to effectively scrub floors, ensuring a deep clean

  REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

1.                High school diploma or GED certificate is a plus.

2.                Previous cleaning or janitorial experience is preferred

3.                Familiarity with common flood cleaning products, equipment, and floor machines is required

4.                Must possess the physical capacity to perform the essential duties for the job including repetitive lifting (up to 50 lbs), bending, sweeping, and mopping for extended periods of time.

5.                Ability to arrive at worksite reliably for non-business hours shifts.

6.                Follows all established safety procedures and precautions.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Work will primarily be performed during non-business hours. Requires the ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Requires a range of mobility and motion to perform cleaning tasks, including bending, stopping, lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs, pushing/ pulling up to 90 lbs. Sufficient visual and auditory acuity to perform tasks safely and effectively. May involve exposure to cleaning chemicals and potential skin and lung irritants; appropriate safety measures and personal protective equipment will be provided.

 PERSONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

 Must demonstrate the ability to organize and prioritize tasks, motivate people and work within a team. Must express or demonstrate and interest in working with a senior population. Must demonstrate a warm, outgoing personality and neat, clean appearance and must be willing to following department dress code. Must interact with guests, residents and staff in a courteous and friendly manner. Must be able to follow instructions. Must communicate clearly.
