What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part Time Dishwasher position at Beechwood Continuing Care?
As a Dishwasher at Beechwood Homes, you will maintain standards of sanitation within all areas of the Dining Service Department. Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds.
Hours: 4pm-8pm during the week and either 4pm-8pm or 8:30am-4:30pm rotating weekends
Hourly Rate: $15.50
ESSENTIAL COMPETENCIES:
- Clears scraps and washes dishes, pots, pans and utensils according to department procedure.
- Operates and cares for dish machine.
- Cleans and sanitizes related equipment and surfaces according to department procedures. Is familiar with chemicals and uses them properly.
- Sweeps and mops department floors as assigned. Follows routine schedule for scrubbing areas.
- Collects and disposes of garbage according to facility procedure.
- Receives and stores all food and supplies used by department following rotation of stock procedures.
- Rotates and re-stocks requisitioned food and supplies.
- Transports food carts and related supplies to areas of service.
- Understands the needs of the elderly and their role in meeting those needs.
- Attends inservice/education programs as mandated by Beechwood.
- Understands special needs of residents with dementia. Attends dementia inservicing according to facility guidelines.
OTHER RELATED COMPETENCIES:
- Assists with preparation and service of special functions as scheduled.
- Assists in meal service as scheduled.
- Assists in quality assurance programs as assigned.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the department director.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Works in kitchens and Dining Services units which are warm, humid and occasionally noisy. Stands, walks short distances, lifts and bends most of the day. Subject to hot and cold temperatures. Lifts, carries and moves food supplies and equipment.
PERSONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be able to lift and carry 60lbs. Must be able to follow instructions. Ability to speak English in an understandable manner desired. Dress and appearance according to department standard.
