We’re currently seeking a Full-Time Lab Assistant-1 to join our team in Draper, UT. If you’re a dedicated professional with a passion for helping others, we want to hear from you!
Position Overview:
As a Laboratory Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting laboratory operations by receiving, processing, and documenting patient specimens with the highest level of accuracy. You’ll work closely with technologists and client services staff to ensure proper workflow, specimen integrity, and positive patient experiences.
This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent data-entry skills, and a commitment to quality and safety. Starting pay $17-$21
Work Schedule:
- Tuesday through Saturday 10:00am-6:30pm
- Full-time Position
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive, label, and process patient specimens according to laboratory procedures
- Follow patient identification and safety protocols at all times
- Evaluate specimen integrity and initiate follow-up for labeling or quality issues
- Complete specimen rejection documentation and coordinate recollections when needed
- Enter specimen details into laboratory software with high accuracy
- Maintain quality documentation and report conditions outside acceptable limits
- Assist laboratory technologists and client services with clerical and operational tasks
- Maintain proper specimen storage and transport procedures
- Provide friendly, professional, and courteous customer service
- Collaborate with team members to support laboratory goals
- Read and follow written procedures and instructions
- Use computers and basic Microsoft Office applications
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional workspace
Qualifications & Skills
Required:
- High school diploma or GED
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 20 lbs
- Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
- Ability to follow detailed instructions
- Visual and auditory acuity
Preferred:
- Previous experience in a laboratory or medical setting
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Prior computer or data-entry experience
- Familiarity with laboratory information systems
Working Conditions
- Exposure to infectious diseases, bloodborne pathogens, and hazardous chemicals is possible
- Must wear appropriate PPE and follow safety protocols
