Pre K/Daycare Coordinator
Job Status: Full Time, 243 -day contract
While most responsibilities are during the day, there are a number of night activities throughout the year that are part of the job requirements.
FLSA Status: Exempt
Reports to: District Administration
Certified Supervise: All certified and classified staff assigned to the various programs.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Pre-K/Daycare Coordinator is responsible for oversight of all the daily activities of the PreK, Day Care, Before/After School program and the summer program (Camp Beebe). The coordinator shall ensure the quality and integrity of all aspects of the program.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES.
- Supervise and monitor the safety of children
- Monitor and insure that all classrooms meet ABC, Program Quality, Special Nutrition Program, Child Assessment guidelines and other guidelines required by the state of Arkansas.
- Develop and manage program budgets, ensuring that resources are allocated appropriately.
- Monitor budgets, expenditures and financial transactions to stay within budgetary constraints.
- Identify areas for improvement and implement changes to enhance the overall quality and impact of the program.
- Supervise and direct the activities of all early childhood personnel.
- Recruit, interview, and conduct personnel actions (i.e., discipline, discharge, promotion, performance evaluations).
- Collaborate with the school district on all issues.
- Attend all required training, keep certifications current and attend professional meetings, educational conferences, and professional development sessions to maintain and improve professional competence.
- Provide professional development for staff members
- Schedule and provide family and community engagement opportunities
- Communicate regularly with participants, parents/guardians, and other stakeholders to provide program updates and address concerns.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant policies, regulations, licensing, and legal requirements.
- Maintain confidentiality and observe professional ethics
PRE K
- Ensure facility compliance with all regulating agencies which includes Division of Child Care, Department of Human Services, Early Childhood Education and Division of Provider Services and Quality Assurance
- Form and maintain collaborative partnerships with Head Start agencies, Home Visiting (HIPPY and PAT), private daycares, local leads and other community agencies.
- Work with elementary principals, teachers, and families to transition students to kindergarten,
- Ensure implementation of the curriculum in classrooms to meet required standards and the individual needs of preschool children including developmental-delayed preschool children.
- Ensure a developmental screening has been completed as required by the program in which the child is enrolled.
- Complete Developmental Evaluations for new and existing Early Intervention Day Treatment patients as needed.
- Ensure that the following tasks for the ABC program are completed timely: COPA, Work Sampling, and match documentation.
Day Care
- Organize activities and implement a curriculum that allow children to learn about the world and explore their interests
- Develop schedules and routines to ensure that children have enough physical activity, rest, and playtime.
- Ensure proper documentation of children’s progress, routines,and interests.
- Work with families to transition students to pre kindergarten.
- Assists teachers in routine classroom operation.
Before/After School/Camp Beebe
- Plan, organize and oversee the successful execution of a before/after school and summer program.
- Oversee the registration process, including handling applications, waivers, and participant information.
- Develop and plan the overall structure, curriculum, and activities for the summer program.
- Identify and secure necessary resources, facilities, and materials for program implementation.
- Coordinate logistical aspects of the program, such as transportation, scheduling, and facility arrangements.
SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education: Bachelor's Degree Required,
Field of Study: Education, Administrator License Preferred
Experience: Previous experience with early childhood education, administration experience preferred
Computer Skills: A level of proficiency with computer applications that are appropriate to the position.
Certifications & Licenses: Current Arkansas teaching license. Other Requirements: 1. Successful completion of pre-employment background checks. 2. Appropriate personal and professional conduct at all times around students, staff, and the general public.
