Speech Pathologist
POSITION SUMMARY
The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) provides evaluation, consultation, and direct therapy services to students with speech, language, and communication disorders. The SLP works collaboratively with educators, parents, and related service providers to support students' communication skills, ensuring access to the educational environment and curriculum.
Essential Functions
- Conduct comprehensive speech-language evaluations using standardized and non-standardized assessment tools
- Develop and implement individualized therapy plans aligned with student IEP goals
- Provide direct and consultative speech-language therapy services to students
- Collaborate with special education staff, general education teachers, and related service providers to support student communication needs
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to goal development and accommodations
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate, timely documentation in compliance with district, state, and federal requirements
- Address a range of communication disorders, including articulation, language, fluency, and voice
- Recommend augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems when appropriate
- Train staff and parents on strategies to support communication development in school and home environments
- Ensure compliance with IDEA and other applicable laws and regulations
- Maintain a safe and organized therapy environment
- Perform other duties as assigned by administration

- Maintain professionalism with staff members.
- Report to the proper authorities any cases of suspected child endangerment, neglect, or abuse.
- Adhere to all policies of the District.
SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education: Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology
Experience: Previous experience in a school-based or pediatric setting preferred
Experience working with students with a variety of communication disorders and disabilities preferred
Computer Skills: Shall be able to demonstrate an acceptable level of proficiency
with computers and programs associated with the position.
Certifications & Licenses: Current Arkansas Speech-Language Pathology License
