Position Summary

Beebe Middle School is seeking a dedicated and student-centered 5th Grade English Language Arts Teacher who is passionate about literacy and committed to fostering a positive and engaging learning environment. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality instruction aligned to state standards, promote critical thinking, and support the academic and social development of all students. This position requires strong instructional practices, effective classroom management, and a collaborative mindset.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver rigorous, standards-based ELA instruction focused on reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills
• Develop and implement engaging lessons that meet the diverse needs of learners
• Utilize a variety of instructional strategies, including differentiated instruction and small group support
• Assess student progress regularly and use data to inform instruction and interventions
• Create a safe, supportive, and positive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and respect
• Integrate technology effectively to enhance instruction and student learning
• Collaborate with grade-level team members, interventionists, and administration to support student success
• Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress and classroom expectations
• Participate in professional development opportunities and ongoing learning
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and performance
• Support school-wide initiatives, programs, and expectations
• Uphold district policies, procedures, and professional standards

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education or related field
• Valid Arkansas teaching license with appropriate certification for elementary or middle level ELA
• Demonstrated knowledge of literacy instruction and best practices in reading and writing
• Strong classroom management and organizational skills
• Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and families
• Effective communication and collaboration skills
• Commitment to continuous improvement and professional growth
• Experience working with diverse student populations preferred
