JOB SUMMARY
179 day contract - Works under the supervision of the Child Nutrition Director and is responsible for assisting in the preparation, serving, and clean-up of meals in the school cafeteria. This position plays a vital role in ensuring that students receive nutritious meals in a safe and welcoming environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Other duties may be assigned)
- Assist in the preparation of food items according to established recipes and guidelines.
- Serve meals to students and staff, ensuring proper portion sizes and presentation.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and serving areas, including washing dishes and sanitizing surfaces.
- Help with inventory management, including receiving and storing food supplies.
- Follow all health and safety regulations, including proper food handling and sanitation practices.
- Support the implementation of special dietary programs and accommodate student allergies and preferences.
- Participate in training and professional development activities as required.
- Collaborate with other food service staff and school personnel to ensure a positive dining experience for all students.
- Maintain confidentiality and observes professional ethics
MINIMUM EDUCATION
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in food service or kitchen operations is a plus.
- Knowledge of food safety practices and sanitation standards.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate with students and staff.
- Physical ability to lift and carry heavy items and stand for extended periods.
