As a Certified Nursing Assistant in our Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), you will work under the direct supervision and direction of Physician and/or Registered Nurse, to support patients as they recover from surgical procedures. This role provides valuable hands-on clinical experiences in a fast-paced, team orientation environment focused on high-quality, compassionate care.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for escorting patients to exam rooms and preparing them for the physician visit and for performing various preliminary portions of visit such as vital signs, weight and specimen collections.
- Responsible for a full range of administrative support in a medical office setting providing duties from scheduling appointments, calling pharmacies, billing patients and verifying precertification's for chemotherapy to triaging phone calls from patients, physicians and insurance companies, while maintaining patient and business confidentiality to ensure that the needs of patient are met..
- Assists in maintaining an up-to-date electronic medical record filing system.
- Responsible for performing processing of specimens and clerical activities
- Assists in the support functions of the department and providers including, but not limited to, data entry, filing, and assisting the provider in the room during the procedure as needed.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
- Experience in OR or clinic setting preferred
- Strong interpersonal skills, a desire to learn, and the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-stress environment
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

- BLS – Basic Life Saving Certification
- High school diploma preferred OR current high school student with CNA license (work schedule in compliance with the State of Delaware Department of Labor Regulations)
