Overview
This individual provides direct patient care as the Center's Advanced Practice Clinician according to established protocols, policies, procedures, and accepted standards of care. Functions within approved scope and credentials as approved by Beebe Medical Center credentialing committee. Follow established nursing standards, procedures, and practices, and gives specific patient care directions to nursing and other staff.
Responsibilities
- Provide accurate and timely assessment. evaluation and treatment of patients from six (6) months to the geriatric population.
- Diagnostics- Ability to accurately interpret electrocardiogram and lab tests results.
- Provide accurate and timely diagnosis and care management to patients with chronic illnesses, such as hypertension, diabetes mellitus and asthma.
- Promote disease prevention by using effective risk assessment, coaching and counseling skills.
- As appropriate, provide timely and accurate completion of Annual Medicare Wellness physicals in accordance with Beebe Medical Group policy and Medicare guidelines.
- Ability to appropriately handle unexpected emergent medical situations.
- Ability to communicate effectively and in a professional manner with patients, co-workers and healthcare providers.
- Possess an energetic, compassionate and efficient work ethic with strong organizational skills and effective customer service skills.
- Other duties as assigned, including but not limited to working at other Primary Care locations within Beebe Medical Group as necessary
Qualifications
Valid and unrestricted license as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) in the practicing state.
• Board certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner (AGNP), or Physician Assistant (PA-C).
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
• DEA registration for prescribing medications (if required).

Credentials
Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and decision-making skills.

• Ability to manage a high-volume patient load in both outpatient and inpatient settings.
• Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) and medical documentation.
• Commitment to evidence-based practice and continuous professional development.
Education
Completion of a masters, post-masters, or doctorate degree in a nurse practitioner program
accredited by the Commission on the Collegiate of Nursing Education (CCNE) or the Accreditation
Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), Current certification by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), American Association of Nurse Practitioner (AANP), OR Completion of an accredited Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARCPA) approved program, current certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA), current and valid licensure to practice as a nurse practitioner or physician assistant issued by the Delaware Board of Medicine or have the ability to obtain said license, and current ACLS certification.

- Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
- Current CPR Certification.
